World Animal Protection

For the Dutch branch of the World Animal Protection agency (previously WSPA), we created a 3D Printed full scale Elephant!
The elephants that people ride on holidays are generally mistreated. The printed elephant was created in 57 vertical columns to display the names of the 30.000 people that signed a petition promising to no longer ride the elephants. The names were embedded in the skin of the Elephant with a special font created to mimic the folds in the skin of a real Asian Elephant. The design and printable files were made by macouno and the 3D print by Joris Tubergen of Joris inverted 5 Ultimaker 3D printers and mounted them on a special system of his own design. The 80kg of material used was provided by ColorFabb.
